Find answers to common questions about our elective prenatal ultrasound services at Made in the Image. We're here to help you understand the process and benefits of our mobile ultrasound experiences.
Is ultrasound safe for me and my baby? Ultrasound does not use radiation, so there is no radiation exposure to the patient or baby. Over 35 years of extensive studies have proven that ultrasound does not cause any harm to the mother or baby.
Do I need a referral from the doctor? No, these are elective ultrasounds, which means they are non-diagnostic.
Is this test covered by insurance? NO. This type of testing is used for luxury, and not used for diagnostic purposes This exam is not intended to be a replacement for your exams at the doctors office.
How far along do I have to be? You should be a least six weeks for a pregnancy confirmation. It is recommended that mom be anywhere between 29-37 weeks for best 4D imaging.
Is there any special preparation? Please try to drink fluids at least one hour before your scheduled session.
What are the key things to know about scheduling, rescheduling, or any policies related to appointments?
If an appointment needs to be rescheduled or canceled, we require a 24-hour notice. There will be a $50 non-refundable retainer for no-shows or unanswered reminders.
What is one important thing parents should know about what to expect during their ultrasound session?
The baby does not always cooperate, and sometimes there is limited visibility. Each mom has a different body type, and each baby has its own personality. If a revisit needs to be scheduled, that will be determined by the technician at the time of the session.
